Network maintenance. Many “encoder problems” are network problems. A congested or misconfigured network pushes the encoder to work harder to compensate for packet loss and bandwidth fluctuation, which stresses the device unnecessarily. The Right Reasons to Upgrade Your Streaming Hardware
With the diagnostic work done, there are genuine situations where hardware is the correct answer.
You’re adding new capabilities that your current hardware doesn’t support. Adding a second simultaneous stream, moving to 4K production, or expanding to a multisite setup that requires dedicated hardware at a receiving location — these are legitimate hardware needs.
