An industry first.
Statistically, 27% of viewers will abandon a stream after the first buffering wheel and another 40% after the second.1 Resi’s technology is the first to be able to handle the problems of the public internet and result in exponentially more people being able to watch.
With existing live streaming technology, if video from the encoder doesn’t make it to the cloud within a few seconds, that video content is lost and the cloud transcoder will not have a perfect copy to transcode into multiple bitrates. Thus, all viewers will see video that has been transcoded with missing data, resulting in a poor viewing experience including buffering wheels, jitters and quality loss.
With the Resi Live Stream Platform, powered by the patented Resilient Streaming Protocol, there is no time restriction on when the video is sent to the cloud, and the transcoder can wait for a perfect and complete copy, without worry of temporary network interruptions delaying the transmission. This means, for the first time, viewers will see perfect quality video across any device. Even a 2-minute delay makes a huge difference in viewer quality, resulting in a high-quality, uninterrupted viewing experience atypical of most live environments.
See what it’s all about.
Resilient streaming starts here.
As a tech director, organization staff member, or volunteer, you have enough on your plate. Our platform was designed to take the hassle out of live streaming. After a simple setup process, the Live Stream Platform runs itself.
Recurring events (such as weekly church services) may be scheduled to stream automatically each week, or launch along with existing Multisite Platform events. Events can be embedded on your website or easily integrated with platforms like Brushfire or Church Online Platform, launching a robust online experience that requires no weekly maintenance.
1080p Facebook & YouTube streaming.
Using the same technology that provides highly resilient content delivery for your website, Resi’s Facebook and YouTube Streaming provides ultra-reliable high-quality video transmission to the popular social sites even through significant network instability and packet loss. As an added benefit, streams to Facebook and YouTube are pushed from the Resi CDN in high-quality 1080p using the existing Live Stream Platform stream, eliminating the need for additional bandwidth at the broadcast site.
Adaptive bitrate streaming (with cloud transcoding).
The internet is an unpredictable place. Resi’s Live Stream Platform includes cloud transcoding, which converts a single high-quality live video stream into multiple bitrates (qualities) in the cloud. This provides multiple quality levels for viewers depending on their available bandwidth and device processing power, and because it’s done in the cloud, this saves bandwidth for you at the broadcast site. Adaptive Bitrate Streaming is very important to ensure your viewers have the best possible viewing experience. We never recommend streaming without it, which is why we include it in all Live Stream Platform plans.
Highest quality streaming.
Resi was built by broadcast professionals who demand the best. Because of the confidence in streaming integrity provided by Resi’s Resilient Streaming Protocol, content can be streamed in bitrates much higher than otherwise reliably possible on standard internet connections (up to 12Mbps video/256Kbps audio). You’ll see and hear the difference.
Stream multiple languages.
Resi hardware encoders are capable of encoding up to 16 channels of audio through SDI or HDMI. This makes it easy to stream multiple languages through translated audio to any of your web destinations.
Proactive monitoring and support.
When you subscribe to the Resi Live Stream Platform, you not only have access to an unparalleled simple and highly-reliable streaming solution; you also receive a dedicated support team that proactively monitors streaming health for each organization and responds to issues before they arise. Have questions? If you need help, we’re just a phone call or email away. With weekend support hours that are available when you are.
It just works. The reliability has been amazing, and the tickets that we receive of ‘hey, this buffered,’ or ‘hey, this went down’ has been greatly reduced. It’s just opened us up to saying, if it really is this easy to stream to all these platforms, I think we’re just in the beginning phases of getting a wide a net as possible with our online services.

Resilient streaming starts here.
How is Resi different from other streaming providers?
There are a few reasons:
Resi’s technology enables more reliable streaming, which leads to less buffering wheels, which leads to more engagement and an exponentially larger audience over time. Resi is the only streaming provider that is able to guarantee 100% content integrity in the cloud (even through internet disruptions) by checking and re-sending data from the encoder through the Resilient Streaming Protocol (RSP). See a comparison and learn more about RSP.
Resi’s reliability is also guaranteed by our unique cloud infrastructure – rather than relying on dedicated servers, we use groundbreaking scalable cloud distribution methods that are not affected by drastic increases in traffic like other streaming providers. This means that no matter how much traffic streams may receive, Resi’s technology is able to scale dynamically to meet the need with no problems.
Additionally, Resi is built to be an enterprise-level solution, while also being remarkably easy to use. Streams can be started with a single click or automated on a schedule. The system will also monitor your stream and will notify you if it ever detects any concerns (and our helpful Support team is standing by too).
What is an encoder? Why do I need one?
An encoder is a device, whether hardware or software, that will take a video input from a source (such as a camera or switcher) and send it to the cloud for distribution and viewing. Most utilize unreliable protocols which send video data to the cloud like a laser beam, resulting in buffering, glitching, and dropped frames due to even minimal packet loss.
Resi is the first system that can provide 100% video delivery without interruptions. To do this, we take advantage of the Resilient Streaming Protocol, which unlike RTMP or other protocols such as SRT or Zixi, takes advantage of a local cache in order to check and re-send data until video content is verified as perfect. This is what makes Resi unique and is only available through Resi’s hardware encoders or ProPresenter Stream encoder.
What is included in a Resi service plan?
A Resi service plan includes:
- Streaming data transfer through Resi’s cloud CDN and cloud storage
- Continuous service and software feature additions and improvements – we release new things often, and we never charge for updates.
- Phone and email support, even on weekends – we’re here if you need us
Can I use multiple encoders with one plan (hardware or ProPresenter)?
Yes! Multiple encoders (whether hardware or software) can be scheduled and streamed with a single plan. If multiple encoders will be streaming at the same time, concurrent events can be added on for $49/mo.
Do you offer a free trial?
At this time, we do not offer a trial of Live Stream Platform. However, month-to-month pricing enables organizations to use Resi with no commitment, or if you want to see an in-depth demo and ask questions before getting started, we’d encourage you to participate in a no-hassle online demo.
How much bandwidth do I need to stream?
Resi’s platform ensures that every frame of video data makes it to viewers before they see it, resulting in a perfect viewing experience without buffering even if the connection at the broadcast site is inconsistent. However, in order to ensure that there are no delays causing data to get to the cloud within the RSP backup cache, 2.5x your bitrate is recommended for upload bandwidth at the broadcast site. When your connection experiences packet loss, this allows the encoder to re-send data to the cloud faster than real-time so your viewers don’t notice a thing!
For typical resolutions, this means:
Don’t have this? Most likely you can still stream. Contact us to talk about your setup.
What happens if I go over my data?
We don’t bill for overages unless you go more than double your data allotment or 25% over your data allotment for 3 consecutive months. If you exceed these levels the rate is $100 per TB (about 1600 viewers). If you are 25% above consistently (more than 3 months), we just ask that you move up to the next plan or data tier, and we’ll celebrate with you on your audience growth!
What is the delay of Resi streams?
Resi is built to provide an enterprise-level broadcast experience without the cost of dedicated connections and expensive IT infrastructure. This means that now, any organization can have the same quality and reliability previously only available to big corporations and sports teams, even on public internet connections.
In order to do this, Resi’s platforms take advantage of a short delay in order to check and re-send data until it is verified as perfect by the destination, something only possible through Resi’s Resilient Streaming Protocol. For Live Stream Platform, this delay is typically around 90 seconds, or 2 minutes to social platforms.
We understand that low latency is important, and we have built our systems on ultra-fast transcoding technology in order to provide highly resilient streaming at the lowest delay possible, which we are working to reduce over time. For most, the tradeoff of a short delay is worth not losing viewers because of buffering wheels and stream disruptions!
What is Resi's stance on censorship?
A major concern with any type of content distribution is that it may be removed, taken down, or censored due to it not conforming to a specific viewpoint. At Resi, we believe that you are in control of your content, and free speech and expression should be ensured to anyone who uses our services.
This starts at the core of our vision, and is why we will never remove or block content unless it is a direct violation with our Master Service Agreement (to protect against content like pornography, etc.).
We go beyond this by utilizing multiple infrastructure providers ourselves. By not being bound to a single provider and utilizing multi-cloud computing capability, we can guarantee reliability and continuous service even through disruptions, no matter the cause.
